Do You Know How Many Of Your Customers Find You On Their Mobile Phones?

According to research by several independent consultancies, 2015 is the year that mobile Internet usage is predicted to overtake desktop usage, so the answer may surprise you. But should it?

Everywhere you look, teenagers and adults these days are glued to their phones. If not for Facebook, or playing games, they’re using them to search. Places to eat, shoes to buy, where to get their car fixed… For products and services to help them with their needs.

You may not have quite realized it just yet, but the mobile boom is now in full swing, and as of April 21st, businesses that don’t have a good-looking mobile website will be severely punished by Google with lost customers and profit.

“Google is putting its foot down for websites that aren’t tailored to our increasingly-ubiquitous mobile screen […] The fall in rankings will only affect searches done on mobile phones.” – Forbes, April 20th

It's not too late to overcome a Google penalty

Now, if you’re questioning whether your website receives the same mobile traffic as, say, a locksmith, or a restaurant site, then the short answer is, it probably doesn’t. The more important answer? Eyeballs are moving to smartphones at an alarming rate, and if you’ve ever had customers tell you they “found you on Google,” you can bet your bottom dollar that the amount who aren’t just talking about their desktops is rapidly increasing.  Recent research by Google themselves backs this up:

“We had no idea how many new customers we’d been missing out on until Dynamite built out our mobile website. It’s a cliché, but the only thing we regret is not doing it sooner.”

Michael Gottlieb,
Director, Christopher’s Group

Make sure your customers can still find you.

What We’ve Done
To Help You Keep Up

At Dynamite Media, we’ve been passionate for years about helping small businesses to adapt to the ever-changing Internet landscape. While we see Google’s effort to make the Web more “user-friendly” as a good thing overall, we realize that a lot of businesses – many of them dependent on mobile traffic as a primary source of revenue – could end up suffering in a huge way.

We also know that many business owners have yet to be made aware of this situation, which is why we reached out to you. Lastly, we know (from making them ourselves!) that mobile websites can often cost a pretty penny, so we set about to find a way of building them that wouldn’t break the bank – even for the little guy.

“Many businesses around the world could wake up on Tuesday to discover their search ranking has been downgraded […] websites that don’t meet Google’s criteria will tumble in its all-important rankings.” – New York Times, April 20th

Now that you’re aware of the situation, isn’t it time to grab a mobile site?

With a new mobile-friendly website, you will not only be able to stick around in Google’s search results, but the great thing about the potential customers who find you there is that most of them are on-the-go, ready to take action and, according to a recent study by Nielsen, “convert immediately or within the hour.”

To capitalize on this trend, we decided to pack the mobile website we’re offering you with features built especially to encourage these conversions, such as:

  • Click To Call, enabling searchers to contact you with just the push of a button.
  • Mobile Maps, ensuring they can easily find their way to your brick-and-mortar location.
  • Powerful Integrations, allowing searchers to read your online reviews, or even browse your Facebook photo gallery, without ever leaving your site.
  • Drag ‘n Drop Editor, so you can get your site looking exactly how you want it – with no technical skills.

FAQ

Do I really need a mobile site?

Yes! Around 50% of the world’s search traffic is now coming from mobile phones. With Google’s April 21st update, websites that are not mobile-friendly will be losing out on customers that may be searching for them from their mobile.

What happens after I click buy?

You’ll be directed to a short questionnaire to help us get started. Your new mobile site will then be ready in 24 hours and will be based on the theme and content of your existing site. It will fix all of the problems listed above and will ensure you don’t lose customers and profit as a result of Google’s new update. Once it is ready, we’ll be in touch with the next steps to hand it over to you.

What exactly do I get for the price?

In addition to a mobile site that looks good on all smartphones, the price includes hosting costs, a free uptime monitor, an analytics dashboard allowing you to see how visitors find and engage with your site, free security updates and, finally, free 24/7 technical support in the unlikely event that anything should go wrong.

Can I make changes to my site?

Absolutely. We’ll provide you with an account where you can log in and make changes or improvements to your heart’s content via a simple drag ’n drop interface. If you don’t have the time, then for a small extra fee we’ll be happy to update the site for you until it’s looking exactly how you want. Just drop us an email.

I already have a web design company/guy/hosting provider for my existing site. How will that affect things?

Having an existing provider is expected! The process for getting your new mobile website will not interfere with this at all. It only requires a quick update on your existing host to get things working. We will give you the information to do it yourself, pass along to your developer, or if you\’d like, we be happy to do it for you as well.

What if I change my mind?

You have 30 days from the time of purchase to experience your new site and decide whether or not you wish to keep it. If you don’t, you’ll have only lost a dollar.
